An ordinary street in an ordinary town that has houses with front and backyards, all except the Floods house, it looks plain from far away, but up close its completely different. Picture window frames that are black with cobwebs and dead flies, a front yard that has thistles and stinging nettles.Grass  that looks as if it has never been watered or mowed. Graves of the Floods semi- dead friends and family. A gate that keeps out unwanted visitors and a mail box that eats the mail and the mail men watches.

Plot: The Floods have very annoying neighbours called the Dents. They are thieves and litterers. The Floods aim to get rid off the Dents so that they can finally have silence.

Summary: The Floods is an easy book to read with a few hard words and ideas. It is best if you read this series in the right order so that you have been introduced to all the characters and settings. Its suitable for 7 and over.  If you are a fluent reader then it'll take about 4 days to read.
